The Harry Potter Chocolate Cake


Do you remember the chocolate cake I made for my daughter’s birthday?  Yesterday, we had another party for her birthday. This was the official kids party with 20 kids at home! For the kids, I thought I should use milk chocolate, as you can see from the color of the icing in the photo. Last time I used bitter. So, what’s the verdict? Milk or bitter?  Well, among the people who tried both, I thought bitter was better, my husband thought milk was better and the kids liked both. Go figure… Next time I will finally try semi-sweet as was originally suggested in Nigella’s recipe. One thing I learned  is that the choice of chocolate does matter. While both were yummy, they did taste very different.
