This is a classic recipe but this is version is by Akis and I like it so much better than the one I used to make so far. Ι skipped the walnuts because of a nut allergy we have at home. Thank you, Aki!
Ingredients
- 250 grams of melted butter
- 200 grams of powdered sugar
- 50 grams of cocoa
- a dash of salt
- 250 grams biscuits (petit beurre Papadopoulos or graham)
- zest of one orange
- 50 grams cognac or other liquor of your choice
How to make: In a large ball, break coarsely the biscuits and shower them with the cognac and put them aside. In another bowl, combine the melted butter with the powdered sugar, cocoa, dash of salt and orange zest. Once well combined, add the the biscuits and combine well. On the countertop, lay a sheet of parchment paper. Put the biscuit mixture on the parchment paper roughly shaped like a log. Wrap it and twist the paper at the edges to seal the log. Then, place the log on cling film and wrap it tightly to give it a smooth log shape. Put it in the freezer for an hour or so and then keep it refrigerated. Slice and serve.
