Kids’ recipe for chocolate fudge

This recipe did not come from a gourmet site or book. I’m not even sure who it is signed by. I found it in a chocolate book that my daughter brought from the library. You can’t get this to become any easier or quicker to make and it’s yummy.  Use with caution, though. It’s loaded with calories.  That’s why I cut the pieces very small.  They make great advent calendar fillers.  This year we got ours from Target (see next post)  and it’s now full with sweet surprises.

Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 cups semi-sweet or milk chocolate
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14oz)
  • 1/4  cup butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (if you’re not allergic)

How to make: Put all the ingredients except nuts in a microwavable bowl. Microwave until the chocolate is melted (3-5 minutes if you’re using chips, longer for bars). Stop the microwave once or twice for stirring. Stir in the nuts (I didn’t because we have allergy in the family).  Pour the mix in a small square dish and refrigerate until the chocolate is set. Cut in pieces and serve. In the photo above, you see the chocolates rolled in cocoa.
