Frozen peach yogurt

Frozen peach yogurt

This is a recipe by Parliaros that I spotted some time ago and made a mental note to try it because it looked really easy. And easy it is.  Admittedly, this is not the best time of they year to make it. Peaches are almost gone. I think I probably grabbed the last ones for the season. A refreshing, frozen dessert that it is, it’s  better enjoyed in hot weather. I was not too excited with it. You need to let it breathe some warm air before you serve it or it’d be hard to the spoon. I would  give it 3.5 stars. But my kids voted it’s a keeper and  it’s surely enjoyable so we’re keeping it.

Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4-5 peaches
  • 150 grams (1 cup) heavy cream
  • 200 grams Greek yogurt (FAGE)
  • 250 grams confectioner’s sugar (powder sugar)
  • optional, jarred peaches with syrup for serving

How to make: Skin the peaches and mash them using a food blender. The softer the peaches, the better.  Mix the peach pulp with the heavy cream, yogurt, and sugar. Mix well until you get a smooth texture. Pour the mix in a container (preferably metallic) and let it in freeze in the freezer for 6 hours. When you want to serve it, dip the container in hot water for about a minute and flip it over in a serving dish. Serve with fresh peaches or peaches in syrup from a jar.
