This is one of the first recipes I posted to mydinnertoday. Surprisingly, it’s also one of the most visited recipe. I felt bad I hadn’t posted a photo at the time so I made it again and this time I took a photo. Enjoy this simple, tasty, and very wintery dish. Depending on the choice of sausage, you can make it as mild or as hot as you wish.
Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 cups couscous
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion cut in small cubes or pulped
- 3 sausages
- 1 big can tomatoes
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- basil
- salt, pepper
How to make: For the couscous, get a packet of the oriental variety. Mix 3 cups water, 6 tbsp. butter and 1 1/2 teaspoons salt. Bring to boil. Remove from the heat, add the couscous and stir well. Cover and let stand for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork and it’s ready.
For the sausage stew, heat the oil in a pan, saute the onion, add and saute the sliced sausage. Add the tomatoes, sugar, basil, salt and pepper and cook at low heat for about 10 minutes.
Combine couscous with the sausage stew and serve.
